When an international automaker launched its redesigned luxury sedan to the U.S. market, its primary customer segment was current model owners who may have been ready to trade up. Considering which incentives would entice customers not only into showrooms but into their vehicles, the automaker chose a company-branded Swiss Army timepiece as one of two products clients would receive upon completing a test drive. Response to the promotion was extraordinary, with the Swiss Army timepiece chosen by 2/3 of these affluent and discerning consumers.
